Seems like the Holiday season is but a distant memory and I am sure we are looking forward to the Easter Bunny visiting before we know it.
The club has seen a very good period of trading over these holidays and I wanted to say a huge congratulations the all the team that work and support our great club and all the members within. We are up on budget and looking like we will continue to move forward to close off what has been a solid year trading wise.
The Board of Management and The Supporters Committees both met this month for a strategy session and offsite meeting to discuss the Clubs short, medium and long term plans and I must say we are looking at some exciting opportunities ahead as we move towards our millstone of 100 years in July 2024. It was a great opportunity to get both key committees together and share ideas and future plans for a club that we all believe is the best in the country. We spent the day brain storming ideas on facilities, opportunities, structure and how we can best serve and support our membership base. Very valuable experience indeed and one that we all agreed should happen at least twice a year.
We are working towards an upgrade of some of the clubs facilities and reviewing what our requirements may be for the future and how our organisation can learn and grow from others in similar volunteers businesses.
It’s also been a very busy time for carnivals and Surf Sports so congratulations to all our competitors that have been successful in their fields and good luck with the preparation for Interstate, State and Nationals competitions.
Finally this month it is worth noting that with only four months of the patrol season to go it is important to ensure we all remain vigilant on our patrols and ensure we support our patrol members, patrol captains and the general public.
Until next month.
Who are we? We are Alex!
