The last month has been busy with patrolling and general club life duties. I’ve had Christmas Patrols, New Years, Seahorse Nippers, SLSQ’s Summer Safety Campaign release and carnivals. I’ve also been involved in Coordinating Sunshine Coast Branch’s Camp Commando where we had 17 Alex youth members attending.
We’ve also done a substantial amount of planning for upcoming events. This season we are celebrating 40 years of Women in Surf Life Saving and so we have a few events in March celebrating exactly this. We will have a Ladies Afternoon on March 1st and Surffest which is a community event on 7th March. See posters for more information. If anyone has any memorabilia (uniforms, posters etc) since 1980 and would be happy for us to use this in a fashion parade, I would love to hear from you.
We are currently running a Social Media challenge around the Surf Club. All you need to do is upload a photo with our Surf Girl banner (currently in the foyer) or myself onto social media, tag my Instagram or Facebook and #alwaysswimbetweentheflags. It’s a super easy way for you to get involved and have a bit of fun and I would really appreciate the support!
I hope to see you all around and at the upcoming events!
