The past couple of months have been very busy in the Surf Girl Calendar. We have had a few fundraising BBQ’s supporting local events such as the Collective Markets and the Nitro Circus Skatepark Competition. We’ve had ‘Support our Savers’ week which is a state wide fundraising opportunity for SLSQ and the individual clubs. We also had our Past & Present Members Reunion run by our Life Members. This was very successful in bringing back past members to rekindle friendships and memories. I’d like to give a big thank you to all of the helpers who have made these events such a success. We couldn’t do it without you all.
Alongside our fundraising, we’ve had the first full month of the Patrol season and Nipper season. A very big welcome to all our new Patrolling members and families in nippers, I hope you’ve settled in nicely to the Alex Family. We’ve also had the start of our Surf Sports competition season, with the Coolangatta Gold and Rainbow Beach Nipper Carnival, a very big congratulations to all the competitors and good luck to all in the upcoming carnivals.
Over the weekend, I had my first Surf Girl workshop with SLSQ in Brisbane. It was a great weekend of learning, meeting the other 8 Surf Girls from across the state and teaching the Little Lifesavers at Southbank. This program will come to an end on the 15th May with a Gala Ball at the Star Casino, Gold Coast. Everyone will be welcome to attend this and we will keep you posted with further information as it comes.
Over the next couple of months, we have a few events on the horizon. Please see below information for our Beer, Wine & Spirits Tasting and our 300 Club fundraisers. We will also be holding a colouring-in competition for our Nippers, these will be handed out by the Age Managers throughout the next couple of weeks and will be due on the 8th December, with a gold coin donation. We are looking to run a Christmas raffle and are currently looking for donations, if anyone would be interested in donating items, please contact the Admin Office.
Thanks again everyone for your constant support. If you’d like to keep up to date with my year, please jump over to Facebook or Instagram. If you’d like to be involved in my campaign as a helper, or with donations or ideas for events, please feel free to message me as well.
