Sunshine Coast Solstice Swim - 7th July 2019

Alex Surf club has partnered with our friends at Alex Rotary to bring you the annual Solstice Swim on the morning of Sunday 7th July. The air might be a bit cool on Sunday morning, but the water temperature will be fantastic.

This year the swim is in aid of the Sunshine Coast White Ribbon group. You’ll be aware of the great work these guys do with their programs to reduce the occurrence of Domestic Violence on the coast.

Registration is NOW AVAILABLE on-line (www.alexandrarotary.com) for the 3 adult swim legs and the kids mini swim so please REGISTER EARLY to let us know you’re coming and you’ll get the right size T shirt.

There’s prizes for swim winners and there’s club discounts in the swim bag along with your T shirt and cap and other goodies.

So we’re asking members and friends to show their support for White Ribbon by taking part in one of the swim legs:

500 meter KIDS MINI SWIM for 9 – 14 year olds

1 Km, 3Km, 5Km SWIMS FOR MEN and WOMEN

We’ll also have English Channel celebrity swimmer SAM PENNY with us, and a few of the regulars from the around the Sunnycoast beaches.

You’ll find more details at the Alex Surf Club site, or at www.alexandrarotary.com or on Facebook (Solstice Swim)

Proceedings start with a warm up session in the park from Fitness First at 8.30 am with all swims heading off shortly afterwards.

Our friends at IGA will be providing fresh fruit and drinks from their stall to the swimmers.

See you there.
