Dougie's Do

It is with much sadness that I advise Doug McKinnon, who is without doubt one of this Clubs finest members and a champion bloke, has Motor Neurone Disease.

Doug has selflessly given so much to the Club since joining in 1998, not only completing over 900 hours of voluntary patrol but years of service as a Nipper Age Manager, Nipper Committee Member, Nipper Beginners board Coach, Nipper March Past Coach and Seahorse Nipper Volunteer.Doug has been the Chairman of our Building Committee for many years and has completed various works on our equipment storage areas over the years.Doug is also the Patrol Captain of Team 8 with 36 members on his Team. Doug is always a willing helper at carnivals and fund raising activities.

It’s people like Doug that are the “beating heart” of our great Cub.The Club held a fundraising party to be held on Friday the 22nd of September in the Bluff Bar to thank Doug for his massive contribution over the years. This is a great opportunity for us to come together as Club and support Doug, Roz and the family during this time. Please save the date and join with me to make this the fundraising party of the century.
