Specific entry requirements
Financial member of Alexandra Headland SLSC
Be at least 15 years of age on the date of final assessment
Currently proficient in Bronze Medallion/Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
If 18 years or older hold Blue Card and ensure is linked to SLSQ membership
Have completed CYRMS and CSA this season
Complete SLS Queensland Education student registration (USI/LUI needed)
Course overview
In this course you will learn the roles and responsibilities of an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Crewperson. This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively crew and maintain an IRB in surf rescue operations.

Maintain an IRB
Unit of Competency:
PUASAR015 Crew small power craft in a rescue operation.
This unit is part of the PUA31312 Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search and Rescue).
Assessment
Assessment is through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency in the workplace. Participants will be required to complete activities that may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstrations and performing scenarios.
Annual skills maintenance requirements
For this award to remain current candidates must perform an annual skills maintenance activity at a Queensland Club between 01 July and 31 December of each year.
Please note that if you gain your award after 01 July then you are not required to attend a proficiency until the following year.
