Bill Buhk was a foundation member of the Club and an active member for many years. Bill was probably the longest serving fund raiser of the Club and was President from 1958 to 1961 as well as holding several positions during his years of service.

 

He was awarded Life Membership for his services to the Sunshine Coast Branch and was awarded Life Membership of the Club for his outstanding service. He received his 50 Year Service Badge in 1977 and was only the third Australian Surf Lifesaver to receive the 75 Year Service Badge in 1999. He was also a Patron of the Club for many years
