KRISTY ELLIS AM

Kristy Ellis joined the Club as a nipper in 1988 and gained her Bronze Medallion in 1997. She was an active patrolling member and was female Club champion from 1998 in nippers and continuously through to 2008 as a senior member. She became the most successful female competitor in the history of the Club winning more than two hundred medals in competition from Nipper State, Senior State, National and World Championships, as well as National Pool Championships.

 

Kristy was a member of the Australian Representative Team on fourteen separate occasions and was Captain of the team on five occasions from 2002 to 2008. She was the People’s Choice in the Queensland Sport’s Woman of the Year Award in 2008. She has been inducted into the Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame, the SLSA Hall of Fame and the ILS Hall of Fame. Kristy won the Coolangatta Gold event for women every year from 1993 to 1998.

 

Kristy has proved to be an outstanding Club member, great ambassador and the most successful competitor of the Club in its history. She was awarded Life Membership in 2013 for her outstanding achievements and contribution to the Club.
