Greg McLaughlin joined the Club as a nipper parent and gained his Bronze Medallion in 1991. He went on to gain probably more awards  and  qualifications in lifesaving than most members. He was Chief Instructor/Training Officer from 1995 to 1999. He was named Best Patrolling Member in 1993, Club Life Saver of the Year in 1994, Sunshine Coast Branch Instructor of the Year in 1994 and 1998 and was awarded an International Life Saving Citation of Merit in 2002.

 

Greg also held the position of Club Captain, Clubhouse Director, Gear Steward and was a member of both Surf Sports and Lifesaving Committees. He was awarded Life Membership of the Club in 2008 for his outstanding contribution.
