Doug Wakefield joined the Club and gained his Bronze Medallion in 1991. He held Club positions as Publicity Officer, Cadet Officer and Clubhouse Director. He was also Honorary Secretary of the Supporters Club. Doug became the Supporters Club Manager. He was a very committed, active surf lifesaver and competitor.

He was awarded Life Manager in 2007 for his services to the Club.
